Why it works

One ship holds the whole group with room to split up. The teens vanish to the pools and slides, the grandparents find the quiet deck, and everyone reconvenes for dinner without anyone having to plan a thing.

Worth knowing

The big stop is Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's private island. A lot is included, the beaches, most pools, and the food, while the Thrill Waterpark, Coco Beach Club, and cabanas cost extra and sell out, so book those early if you want them.
Reserve specialty dining and shows as early as your cruise line allows, since popular times disappear quickly with larger groups. Set one loose daily meetup so nobody spends the trip texting to find each other.
This is a five-night Bahamas loop out of Miami. It is a lot of ship and only a couple of ports, which is the point for a reunion: the ship is the destination.
