Santo may not have stolen my heart, but the people certainly left an impression.
🌴 Santo, Vanuatu — a warm welcome in the South Pacific
There are some ports where you step off the ship and immediately want to explore for hours. Santo was a little different. 😊
The people were incredibly kind and welcoming, and local vendors had tents set up along the port selling handmade goods and souvenirs. It was a nice opportunity to meet some of the locals and get a small glimpse into life in Vanuatu.
The biggest challenge? The heat and humidity were intense! There wasn't much else right at the port to explore, so many passengers wandered off the ship, took a look around, and eventually decided the air conditioning back onboard sounded pretty wonderful!
I was completely caught off guard by the humidity, and we're from the South! It was so intense, it felt like it had just rained on us—even though the skies were beautiful and blue!
