My (and Hugh Grant’s) favorite London neighborhood!
As someone that enjoys a morning of coffee, street markets, good eats, and beautiful aesthetics, Notting Hill was a much needed stop on my London trip. Although the area gets very crowded with tourists, the beauty in the neighborhood’s simplicity remains. The colorful houses, abundance of artsy shops, and cute coffee shops make this stop well worth it. I will say, if you are looking to get away from the tourist bustle— do not come here. It is not the quaint escape it looks to be. However, I still think it’s absolutely worth visiting. Some highlights from my morning there include:
- Seeing George Orwell’s former apartment (one of my favorite authors!)
- Walking through the street markets
- Exploring some of the antique stores
- Enjoying a DELICIOUS ham and cheese croissant + latte at Gail’s
I guess it helps if you’re a big Hugh Grant or Julia Robert’s fan, too!
The neighborhood is super easy to access via the tube, so if you have a free morning, go check it out!
I expected it to be less lively, but it was PACKED!
