Gruyères
Cobblestone paths climb to a castle that looks pulled straight from a fairytale
I stopped in Gruyères during a 2019 road trip across Switzerland and found a car-free medieval town where cobblestone paths lead uphill to a castle that looks pulled straight from the Middle Ages. It is also the home of the famous cheese that bears its name. 🧀🐮
If you’re looking for a fun nearby excursion the famous Cailler chocolate factory is open to tours and taste testing only 15 minutes from the medieval town. 🍫
